Should I must use Dexron II ATF? Or Dexron III is better and compatible with old ( made 1990) Toyota cars?

I have a Toyota carina ED car. Made 1990. It is 1998cc. Auto transmission ECT-S. 16 valve EFI toyota 4S engine. I mainly drive the car with CNG gas, a little in octane. According to manufacturer (toyota) I told to use Dexron II ATF. But Dexron III ATF is more good for my old car? Is it better and compatible for this old toyota car?

1. If it takes Dexron II it can take Dexron III and this is better for your trans, but you won't notice a differance. There are a few exceptions, but not Toyotas.
2. At the time your vehicle was built Dex II was the high standard for trans fluid. Dex III supercedes Dex II and will conform/exceed the same standards. You can use either. You can also use Dexron VI which is the newest standard and it supercedes III and of course II.
