Should I must use Dexron II ATF? Or Dexron III is better and compatible with old ( made 1990) Toyota cars?
I have a Toyota carina ED car. Made 1990. It is 1998cc. Auto transmission ECT-S. 16 valve EFI toyota 4S engine. I mainly drive the car with CNG gas, a little in octane. According to manufacturer (toyota) I told to use Dexron II ATF. But Dexron III ATF is more good for my old car? Is it better and compatible for this old toyota car?

- If it takes Dexron II it can take Dexron III and this is better for your trans, but you won't notice a differance. There are a few exceptions, but not Toyotas.
- At the time your vehicle was built Dex II was the high standard for trans fluid. Dex III supercedes Dex II and will conform/exceed the same standards. You can use either. You can also use Dexron VI which is the newest standard and it supercedes III and of course II.
