Do some people still illegally run leaded fuel in old cars in the United States?
Do some people still do this? Can leaded fuel still be obtained in underground areas and the like? Is it wise to avoid following old cars, for this reason?

- yes i use this as well...back in the day there wasnt unleaded and the if you try to run this in your car the Performance is bad ..most gas stations sell the led additive for unleaded
- Oh please, do you really believe all this? Classic car engines were designed to run on leaded fuel. There's no place to get it any more so we've reworked the engines to run on unleaded. You can buy octane booster but that's only for racing engines and cannot be economically used on the street. If you're worried about breathing the fumes you would have to be piped directly into the exhaust system. Exhaust dissipates within a foot of leaving the exhaust pipes. A poorly tuned newer car pollutes much more than a classic that's been restored.
- It's only illegal if your car was built for unleaded gas. But only cars build before 1975 need leaded, and most cars after 1975 will be poisoned by it. (Except for some specially build cars, such as race cars.) It's hard to find leaded gas for sale any more; most people who need it buy a lead additive to put in unleaded gas. What's illegal is selling leaded gas at regular pumps, for regular cars. As for following old cars -- unless you make a habit of following old cars for at least 4 hours a week for several months, it's nothing to worry about.
- I use MPG Caps with my fuel (1 cap per 50 litres). MPG makes fuel be burnt completele, save me up to 20% of my money and reduces air spoiling up to 75%! I am telling all my friends about this opportunity and it makes me money! YOU can 2! Here are details....
