Who buys slightly damaged old cars and then resell the car after fixing it or sell the car's parts?

For example, an old car's body is damaged in an accident but the engine, transmission and other major parts work well. For the owner, It is not worth fixing it but still the car has some value. And a mechanic or garage still can make some money out of it. Thanks.

  1. There are rebuilders and restorers... both fix up cars and resell them... a Rebuilder is usually a late model car that has been bought out of an insurance pool and fixed up and resold. A Restored car is usually an older vehicle that may or may not have had damage and has been reconditioned to various stages depending on the value of it...
  2. Well it really depends on what kinda car it is and how much damage there is to it. I've bought cars that needed fixed from owners that didn't want to put the money into it, and I've made money off of it. the person that buys the car has to determine first if the car is worth the time and money to fix it and turn around and try to sell it. If you have a car like this try advertising it in the local paper or put it up on website like craigslist.
