I want to start working on cars, so i was woundering which old car would be the best to working on?
im in high school and money is tight so i'm looking for a old cheap car maybe in the 1960's-1970's. i have no experience with car repairs so i would like a stright forward car with cheap repairs (parts), i would like to have a car that would look good when done, if you know what i mean. thanks- dustin c.

- The days of buying a cheap 60's or 70's car to fix up are done boyo. Look to the 80's or 90's. Even a rust bucket Mustang that hasn't run in 20 years will go for 1-2k. And a full restoration would cost more than a brand new 25,000.00 car.
- You can work on my wife for free if ya like. Shes a burnt out old wreck. If you could modify her into something resembling a Ferrari F40 it would be much appreciated.
- If you can live with a 4-door, you can still find some early sixties GM cars that are pretty simple to work on. Chevy and Pontiac would be best from 62 through 68. A 4-door is not as collectible as a coupe, convertible, or 2-door post. Try to get something with a regular carb engine and a standard trans. Avoid air conditioning for a simple project.
